War Whores Slot Review

War Whores Review

Most people would agree that war sucks, and so do I, because not only does it mean that people get hurt, but on the whole, it hurts the economy and impacts people who might have absolutely nothing to do with it. War Whores takes the frustration against war and turns it into political messaging that is clever and makes for great packaging for an otherwise thrilling slot game.

Speaking of its gameplay mechanics, the Wicked Games slot comes with a 6×6 grid with Scatter Pays, a reasonable RTP, a betting range that allows players to bet as much as €200 per round, and an astounding possible max win of up to 50,000x. I’ll discuss more of the slot’s positive aspects in this War Whores slot review.

War Whores Slot Gameplay and Design

In typical Wicked Games fashion, War Whores wears its messaging on its sleeve through its symbols, background, and even its music. While the background makes allusions to the White House, several political figures can be seen in the symbols (who shall remain unnamed). Other symbols in the slot include handcuffs made out of inflatable tubes, lithium crystals, oil barrels, and more. The animations are always on point as well, and the symbols appear lucid during wins.

What the game implies with its symbolism, it also says out loud through its messaging, as text such as “Days without war: 0” keeps appearing underneath the slot’s 6×6 grid. The sound is a trap beat that morphs into an EDM/techno beat in the event of a win, and I think it’s a really clever choice. I think it’s safe to say that it’s among the best online slots in the market when it comes to its audiovisual elements, since the attention to detail here is incredible.

War Whores Slot Symbols, Paylines, and Max Win

The war-themed slot has multiple symbols such as soldiers, weapons, explosives, and nukes, but they’re all presented through a satirical lens. There are accompaniments in the form of Golden Pager symbols, which trigger the bonuses, while the Bomber symbols increase the spin multiplier by up to +25.

With Nuke symbols multiplying the spin multipliers by up to 5x, and WickedBOOM applying a multiplier to the total win, there’s a lot in the base game that keeps War Whores fun even in its base game.

War Whores features a max win of 50,000x.

What sets it apart as one of the best Wicked Games online slot games I’ve encountered thus far is its max win potential of 50,000x, which also goes hand in hand with its broad betting range. Players can bet anywhere between €0.20 and €200 per spin, which serves players of all risk appetites quite well. On top of that, you can increase your max bet by selecting certain features in the game itself, which could potentially also enhance your max win.

War Whores RTP and Volatility – Hot or Not

War Whores features an RTP of 96.18% in its base game, but it can reach a higher mark during bonus rounds. Since RTP is purely a theoretical measure, it’s unlikely to have any bearing in your own session.

What will have a bearing on your session is its high volatility, which essentially means a lot of variation between the frequency and size of your wins. It’s safe to say that War Whores doesn’t follow a set pattern, and remains highly volatile, both in its base game and across its bonus games.

War Whores – Bonuses & Special Features

The Wicked Games slot comes with scatter wins, accumulating multipliers, and two distinct bonus rounds, which include both free and super free spins. Here’s everything you might come across in terms of bonus features while playing War Whores.

Situation Room Bonus

Essentially the free spins bonus round, which triggers with 8 FS after 3 Golden Pager symbols land, the Situation Room bonus features a latent multiplier that carries over every spin and gets activated by a WickedBOOM symbol, which applies to the overall win. I found this to be the thing that makes the Situation Room bonus lucrative, and I also like the fact that the multiplier resets to 1x after activating.

We aren’t finished with Golden Pagers after they activate the bonus feature either, as landing these symbols can activate additional spins, or even trigger Total War Mode (Super Free Spins) as well.

Total War Mode

This is the Super Free Spins round, which is triggered by landing 4 Golden Pagers, and it’s different from Situation Room in terms of its multiplier. While the former resets the multiplier after it is triggered by the WickedBOOM symbol, the latter never resets the multiplier, which allows it to continue accumulating throughout the round.

It’s a neat little mechanic that makes Total War Mode potentially more lucrative, and upon landing 2, 3, or 4 Golden Pagers during the round, it awards 2, 5, and 8 additional spins, respectively, which is great.

Wicked Boosters and Bonus Buy

Wicked Boosters are a part of almost all Wicked Games slots, and I appreciate them for serving up something that Bonus Buy options often miss. Here are all the Wicked Boosters and Bonus Buy features in War Whores.

• Probing Action costs 1.5x the bet and increases the chance of landing 3+ Golden Pagers by 3x.
• Weapons Free costs 4.5x the bet and increases the chance of landing 3+ Golden Pagers by 10x.
• Leeroy Jenkins is a Bonus Buy feature, which costs 5,000x the bet, and gives players a chance to win 50,000x the bet with a Max Win symbol under the crosshair.
• Straight In costs 125x the bet, and it instantly triggers the Situation Room bonus feature.
• Blind Fire costs 300x the bet and instantly triggers either Situation Room or Total War Mode.
• Never Back Down instantly triggers Total War Mode and costs 850x the bet.

While some players might think the Bonus Buy costs are too high, I think War Whores plays completely fair by letting players opt for Wicked Boosters, which have much more manageable costs. Because of these features, I’d say that next time you’re looking for the best online casino games to play, do give War Whores a try.

War Whores vs. Book of Dead

Both War Whores and Book of Dead by Play’n GO are high-volatility games, but they deliver vastly different experiences when looked at side by side. While War Whores features Scatter Pays and accumulating multipliers, Book of Dead sticks with a more familiar format with fixed paylines and expanding symbols.
